Three-star athlete Lavian Scruggs commits to Maryland football

Maryland football picked up a commitment from three-star athlete Lavain Scruggs, he announced Friday.

Scruggs, a product of nearby Archbishop Spalding, chose the Terps over offers from Buffalo, Liberty, UMass and Temple, with additional reported interest from Cincinnati and Rutgers.

With this commitment, Scruggs joins high school teammate Kellan Wyatt in the Terps’ 2022 class, with the program also looking to land fellow Cavalier Mansoor Delane this cycle.

Scruggs plays a mix of safety and corner at the high school level, allowing Maryland some flexibility in his positioning in college.
