Sarah Myers leaving Maryland women’s basketball as graduate transfer

Maryland women’s basketball junior guard Sarah Myers is transferring out of the program, head coach Brenda Frese confirmed at the team’s awards banquet Tuesday night.

Despite being just a junior, Myers is about to complete her degree in kinesiology next month. The Cumming, Georgia, product will look to further her academic and athletic career closer to home, Frese said. Georgia and Georgia Tech are within 70 miles of her hometown, and former Maryland teammate and fellow Cumming native Jenna Staiti plays for the Bulldogs, but it’s unclear where Myers will end up.

Myers may not have had the largest impact on the court throughout her time in College Park, but she was often cited as a great teammate known for her exuberant attitude and strong work ethic.
