EVANSTON, Ill. — Before and after his 16-point, six-assist performance in Saturday’s 72-59 win over Northwestern, Rasheed Sulaimon reserved time to revisit his past at Duke. It was “bigger than basketball,” he would later say, so he made sure to give Northwestern Coach Chris Collins a big hug and tell him he was happy for his success in Evanston.

It was just three years ago that Collins, who served as a longtime Duke assistant before taking the job at Northwestern, had recruited and coached Sulaimon during his freshman season in Durham.
