MM 9.4: Maryland men’s soccer drops to No. 3 in latest United Soccer Coaches poll

Following its 2-0 defeat at the hands of No. 12 Virginia at Audi Field on Monday, Maryland men’s soccer has fallen to No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, in which it was previously the top team in the country.

The Terps struggled on both sides of the ball on Monday. They allowed 10 shots to the Cavaliers in the first half alone, which resulted in two goals. In the second half, the defense was much better, only allowing one shot — but the damage had already been done. On offense, Maryland really couldn’t get anything going — it had five total shots, four of which came in the first half.
