MM 9.17: Maryland field hockey goalkeeper Noelle Frost earns Big Ten honors

After a stellar 3-0 week for Maryland field hockey, winning games over Towson, No. 6 Virginia and James Madison, senior keeper Noelle Frost was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

This is Frost’s first time earning this award in her career and it’s the first time a Maryland player has won it this season.

Last week, Frost didn’t have to face any shots in a 5-0 victory over Towson, but she was a crucial part of the team’s win over No. 6 Virginia. In a wild game, the senior notched six saves, including the game-winning save in a shootout, which tied for her career-high.
