MM 8.4: Maryland men’s basketball’s Guillermo Del Pino hits game-winner in FIBA U18 Eurobasket final

Incoming Maryland men’s basketball freshman Guillermo Del Pino has officially broken out.

The 6-foot-5 Spanish native finished his star-studded run at the FIBA U18 Eurobasket with 23 points on 50% shooting and three assists in the championship game against France. After playing a pivotal role for Spain throughout the tournament, it was Del Pino who was trusted with the game on the line.

The new Terp scored the final nine points of the game for Spain, all within the final 30 seconds, as the Spanish erased the 11-point lead France took into the fourth quarter.
