MM 7.23: University of Maryland releases latest COVID-19 testing results

The University of Maryland announced its latest round of coronavirus testing results for athletes as well as numbers from the campus community on Wednesday.

The athletics department conducted 185 tests from July 14-15 that yielded a total of three positive results, according to a statement. Since athletes returned in June, Maryland athletics has conducted 545 tests and had 12 positive results among student-athletes and staff.

With the latest results, Maryland football has resumed voluntary, individual training for student-athletes.

The university also held a free testing event for members of its community from July 14-15 at Maryland Stadium, which served as a pilot program as the school prepares to offers tests for those returning to campus next month.
