MM 7.19: Concacaf Gold Cup USA/Canada recap

Three former Maryland men’s soccer players played in the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Midfielder Eyrk Williamson saw the first action of any Terrapin in the tournament, coming on as a substitute in the United States’ opening matchup against Haiti. In 14 minutes he drew two fouls as the squad coasted to a 1-0 victory.

Defender Donovan Pines made his international debut against Martinique while Williamson earned his first start. Williamson assisted one of the United States’ six goals and helped the team advance to 2-0.

In his first start for the United States, former Terp Eryk Williamson tallied his first international assist with this beautiful pass off a corner kick.
