Maryland volleyball announced on Thursday that it added former Winthrop University assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Becca Acevedo to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Acevedo played volleyball for four years at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Three of those years the team made an NCAA Regional appearance and she finished her playing career with 5,194 assists. Acevedo was also a three-time AVCA All-American.
Her coaching career took her to the University of West Florida and then Winthrop where she has spent the last three years. In 2019, she helped lead the Eagles to an NCAA Tournament bid.
