The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association named Maryland women’s lacrosse defender Lizzie Colson, midfielder Grace Griffin and attacker Hannah Leubecker All-Americans. This announcement marks the 12th straight year with at least three All-American Maryland women’s lacrosse players.
The All-American trio of Colson, Griffin, and Leubecker affirms what it means to “fear the turtle.” Colson was selected for the All-American First Team while Griffin and Leubecker were selected for the Third Team.
Colson was a Tewaaraton Finalist, the Big Ten Defender of the Year, a Unanimous First Team All-Big Ten selection, and a Big Ten All-Tournament Team selection all thanks to her nation-leading 49 caused turnovers and a conference-leading 59 groundballs during the 2021 season.
