Former Maryland women’s basketball star Alyssa Thomas made history Friday in the Phoenix Mercury’s 106-91 win Rover the New York Liberty.
Thomas recorded 17 points, 15 assists and nine rebounds. She became the first player in WNBA history to notch at least 15 points, 15 assists and five rebounds in multiple regular season games.
The forward also tied for the third-most consecutive games in league history with 10 points and five assists (13).
Thomas is averaging 9.5 assists per game — set for a new career-high — to go along with 14.
