MM 6.27: Maryland alum Joe LaBue named deputy athletic director

Maryland alum Joe LaBue was named deputy athletic director and chief revenue officer for Maryland athletics Thursday. Athletic Director Jim Smith appointed LaBue.

LaBue, a sports business executive leader, graduated from the university in 2001 and has 25 years of experience in revenue generation, sports and sales and service, among other qualifications. According to a release on the university’s athletics website, LaBue will serve as “key advisor” for Smith, and have administrative oversight of facets that include revenue generation, sponsorships and partnerships.

LaBue most recently was the president of Charlotte FC, a Major League Soccer club. He also held multiple roles with the Carolina Panthers, including director of ticket sales & premium services and sales & suites service manager.
