Former Maryland men’s soccer goalkeeper Zack Steffen earned his first trophy with Manchester City on Sunday.
Manchester City defeated Tottenham Hotspur, 1-0, securing its fourth consecutive English Football League Cup, also known as the Carabao Cup, thanks in part to a clean sheet performance from the former Terp.
Steffen’s lone save in the match came early in the second half against a strong attempt on goal by Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, as he parried the attempt wide of the lower corner of the goal frame.
Not too busy of a day for former Maryland men's soccer goalkeeper Zack Steffen, but this save to start the second half was key in helping lead Manchester City to its 1-0 Carabao Cup Final victory over Tottenham.
