MM 2.20 Tyler DeSue announces retirement, leaving Maryland football with two scholarship quarterbacks

Maryland football quarterback Tyler DeSue announced Wednesday that he’ll be stepping away from his football career and retiring via his Twitter account.

“Today is the day that I put my best foot forward and leave my playing days in the past,” DeSue said in his announcement tweet. “I absolutely love everyone who has supported me and been there for me along this journey but it’s time to hang up the cleats and move on.”

The sophomore is now the third quarterback to depart from the Terps football program this offseason, leaving head coach Mike Locksley with just two scholarship players at the position Josh Jackson and Lance LeGendre.
