Maryland men’s basketball senior Darryl Morsell will return to the court Thursday night against No. 5 Iowa despite being less than a week removed from a surgical procedure that repaired a fractured bone in his face.
The veteran guard sustained the injury late in the first half of the Terps’ New Year’s Eve loss to No. 10 Michigan at Xfinity Center. He sat out for the second half and underwent surgery the next day.
The team initially announced he would sit for one to two weeks, but the ever-motivated Morsell was cleared by medical staff and will play, face-masked, just six days removed from his operation.
