MM 12.6: Maryland track and field competes in first indoor meet of season

Maryland track and field captured four individual victories in the Navy Invitational this past weekend — its first indoor event of the season.

In the women’s 60-meter dash, freshman Armanie Coleman took first place with a time of 7.58 seconds. Fellow freshman Victoria Teasley crossed the finish line just .04 seconds later to earn second place.

Senior Kami Joi Hickson won the women’s 1,000-meter race with a time of 2:56.13, good for a personal record.

Graduate Chioma Njoku won the women’s weight throw event with a mark of 19.65 meters, the sixth-longest throw in program history.
