No. 8 Maryland women’s basketball guard Katie Benzan was named a candidate for the 2022 Senior CLASS Award, the program shared over Twitter earlier this week.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.
The 5-foot-6 Benzan, who came to the program during the COVID-19 season in 2020-21, has had a good season thus far for Maryland. Benzan has played in eight games and is averaging over 30 minutes, 13.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and a 43.
