After the inaugural week of the 2019-20 college basketball season, Maryland women’s basketball dropped to No. 8 in the latest AP Poll.
The Terps started at No. 4 in the preseason poll, but moved down four sports after suffering their first loss of the season.
Maryland blew the doors off of Wagner in a 119-56 victory before falling to then-No. 8 South Carolina 63-54 this past Sunday.
The Gamecocks rose to the No. 6 spot in this week’s poll, with Oregon State, UConn and Texas A&M each leapfrogging the Terps in the rankings as well.
