Maryland’s last bowl game in Detroit was a spectacular failure

Bruce Mesner said that when he first heard that the Maryland football team would be playing in Detroit for the Quick Lane Bowl against Boston College on Dec. 26, “I thought it was a joke, quite frankly.” The former Terrapins defensive lineman can laugh about it now.
