Former Maryland women’s basketball star and current Washington Mystic guard Kristi Toliver etched her name into the WNBA record books on Sunday.
Toliver made history with nine made three-pointers, fueling the Mystics past the New York Liberty in a second-round single-elimination game. By the time the dust settled, Toliver had made more threes in one game than the WNBA had seen in any contest in its 21-year history, playoff or otherwise.
Toliver finished the record-setting night with 32 points, going 10-of-20 from the field and 9-of-16 from deep, and a five-game series with the Minnesota Lynx on the horizon.
