Maryland's Dion Wiley will be 'as good as new' by mid-March, still plans to redshirt

Guard Dion Wiley will be "as good as new" by mid-March, but Maryland men's basketball coach Mark Turgeon still plans on redshirting the injured sophomore this season, he said on his radio show Monday night.

Wiley's torn meniscus in his right knee, suffered about a week before the start of the regular season, was "my first time being injured," he said Monday. Doctors were able to "save" his meniscus, Turgeon said, repairing the cartilage rather than replacing it.

Wiley said he has been off crutches for about two weeks and recently was cleared to start jumping.
