Maryland women’s basketball’s Brionna Jones wins EuroCup title

Former Maryland women’s basketball star Brionna Jones and PBC Nadezhda Orenburg won the EuroCup Women’s title Wednesday, topping BLMA Montpellier, 75-57, to take the second half of the home-and-home and the EuroCup title, 146-132.

Jones led the way for Nadezhda, a Russian club, earning a championship game double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go with three blocks in the second leg of the championship.

Jones and Nadezhda came into the game down four points, after losing 75-71 in the opening game of the Finals. Jones’ performance pushed her squad to the title and a third straight home-and-home series win in the playoffs.
