The Maryland women’s basketball team is adding guard Ieshia Small, Coach Brenda Frese announced Tuesday. Small is set to transfer to College Park from Baylor, where she spent her first two seasons.
Per NCAA transfer rules, Small will sit out next season and have two years of eligibility remaining. The 6-foot Small played in 28 of the Lady Bears’ 37 games this past season, averaging 2.6 points in just over 11 minutes.
“Ieshia is a versatile player that can help in multiple areas on both ends of the floor,” Frese said in a statement. “She will provide veteran leadership and experience to our team as well.
