Maryland men’s basketball guard Eric Ayala will play at No. 7 Michigan on Tuesday night after missing the past two games with a groin injury, coach Mark Turgeon announced.
Ayala, who initially suffered the injury Christmas Day against Purdue and aggravated it during an 89-67 loss at No. 5 Iowa on Jan. 7, will likely come off the bench.
“How much he plays depends on how well he plays and how he’s kind of adapting,” Turgeon said Monday. “We’re a little worried about his conditioning because he’s been out a while, but he’s going to play.”
Ayala, a junior, has assumed lead point guard duties this season and is averaging a team-high 14 points, along with 3.
