Maryland freshman Justin Jackson has declared for the NBA draft but won’t hire an agent, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed on Tuesday evening.
Jackson was one of 182 players to file as an early entry candidate for June’s draft, the league announced on Tuesday evening, although by holding off on hiring representation, Jackson can test the draft process — which includes individual workouts with teams and attending the NBA draft combine in May should he be invited — and still return to school next season. Jackson has until May 24 to decide to go pro or return to school.
