COLLEGE PARK — An already beleaguered Maryland defense did not get much help from its partners on offense and special teams in Saturday’s 45-20 trampling by No. 18 Michigan at SECU Stadium.

Half of the Wolverines’ 10 drives began on the Terps’ side of the 50-yard line, and Michigan capitalized with four touchdowns and one field goal. Maryland’s offense contributed to three of those disadvantageous possessions via two turnovers on downs and one interception, and special teams chipped in with a failed surprise onside kick and poor kickoff coverage.

The Wolverines’ average start was their own 43-yard line, while the Terps’ average start was their own 25.
