Maryland football’s Lorenzo Harrison named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

Maryland running back Lorenzo Harrison was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week by the conference on Monday.

Harrison had 105 rushing yards on 17 carries in Maryland’s 28-17 win over Michigan State; it was his first career 100-yard performance. He also scored the game’s first touchdown, an eight-yarder late in the opening quarter. Harrison and sophomore Ty Johnson each finished with over 100 yards on the ground, the first time two Terps have eclipsed triple digits since Brandon Ross and C.J. Brown did so against Rutgers in 2014.

Harrison leads the team with five rushing touchdowns and 502 yards in seven games.
