Imhotep Institute (PA) tight end Naseir Upshur has announced a date for his college announcement. The bad news for Terps fans however is Maryland is out of contention, as the No. 5 tight end in the country listed Florida State and Michigan as his final two.
The Terrapins gave a valiant effort in Upshur's recruitment - 2016 quarterback commit Dwayne Haskins labeled Upshur a priority along with the Maryland coaches - but the national level of his recruitment turned out to be too much to compete with. Upshur was in attendance for Maryland's home game against Wisconsin, but four visits to campus weren't enough.
