Maryland football RB Javon Leake expected to sign with New York Giants

After not hearing his name called in the 2020 NFL Draft, Maryland football running back Javon Leake is expected to sign as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants, ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reported Saturday.

Leake decided to forgo his senior year and enter the draft after a stellar 2019 season. He was named the Rodgers-Dwight Big Ten Return Specialist of the Year to earn a spot on the All-Big Ten First-Team after averaging 26.8 yards per return. The Terp had 804 yards on 30 kickoff returns, complete with two touchdowns to tie Torrey Smith’s career program record.
