It’s official. Maryland field hockey will be hosting the Virginia Cavaliers in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Nov. 12 in College Park.
Maryland’s home field, The Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex, has not been a favorable place for visitors to get a victory this season, as the Terps are 7-3 when playing in College Park.
Earlier this season, the Terps defeated then-No. 12 Virginia on the road, 2-1, in overtime.
Virginia registered a 12-8 record during the regular season, finishing 3-3 in ACC play. The Cavaliers most recently fell to the defending national champion North Carolina in the ACC Championship by a score of 1-0.
