Maryland basketball’s Trace Ramsey enters transfer portal after one season

After just five appearances and 10 minutes played in a Maryland basketball uniform, Trace Ramsey has entered the transfer portal and will look to continue his college career elsewhere, he announced Wednesday.

Ramsey committed to the Terps in April 2018, at the time becoming the fifth member of Maryland’s recruiting class (Ricky Lindo reclassified and entered the fold in August). The 6’7 lefty wing was an unrated prospect with no other Power 5 offers, and it wasn’t long after Mark Turgeon extended an offer that he received Ramsey’s pledge. Ramsey scored just one point and grabbed one rebound in his rookie season.
