Maryland baseball’s AJ Lee named Big Ten Player of the Week

After leading Maryland baseball to a sweep over Iowa this past weekend to secure the No. 6 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, shortstop AJ Lee earned some recognition from the conference.

Lee received Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the first time this season after a week where he hit .588 (10-for-17) with six RBIs, three home runs and eight runs scored.

Lee hit home runs in three consecutive games last week, including a walk-off two-run shot in the series opener to beat the Hawkeyes, 8-6. Combining his runs scored and batted in, Lee himself accounted for 14 of Maryland’s 32 runs scored last week.
