Maryland baseball, behind stellar pitching and small ball, defeated Stetson 2-0 on Sunday in the rubber match of their weekend series in College Park.
Hunter Parsons took the mound for the Terps on Sunday, looking to build off his recent success, having lowered his season ERA to 4.20 before the start of the weekend finale. Parsons was nothing but dominant against the Hatters, throwing his first complete game shut out and setting a new career high with nine strikeouts. He was perfect into the fourth inning, setting down the first 11 Stetson batters in order. He had six 1-2-3 innings in the game, throwing 101 pitches to complete the shutout.
