Mark Turgeon wants Maryland basketball to be the new ‘Point Guard U’

With Melo Trimble off to the NBA and ball handling duties firmly passed to Anthony Cowan, Maryland basketball coach Mark Turgeon has a vision for the program.

Turgeon appeared on the latest Brave in the Attempt of Maryland podcast, as an interview he did in June with a Special Olympics athlete surfaced. In the interview he expressed a desire to turn Maryland into the premier destination for floor generals.

“I really want to make Maryland ‘Point Guard U,’” Turgeon said. “Starting with Melo, now Anthony Cowan and hopefully the next one that comes along is going to be a great one like those two are.
