A year ago, Jalen Brooks was struggling. He had just served a redshirt season at Maryland as a productive scout team player, but now he was trying ascend through the ranks on the depth chart and make an impression on the coaching staff. He just couldn't get through his conditioning test.
During one of his attempts, he was struggling again, and he wasn't sure if he could complete it and pass. But then he received the boost he needed: fellow linebacker Abner Logan came out and helped Brooks finish the test.
When Logan, a projected starter at weak-side outside linebacker, was lost for the season earlier this week with an ACL injury, it created a ripple effect among the Terps linebackers.
