Lefty Driesell finally voted into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, per reports

At long last, former Maryland basketball coach Lefty Driesell will be named one of the newest inductees of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Saturday.

John Feinstein unofficially broke the news with a tweet Wednesday night, and two Hall of Fame members confirmed to the Washington Post.

Dreisell has been a finalist for the Hall of Fame four times, but did not received enough votes each previous time, most recently in 2016. In all of those instances, there was another men’s basketball head coach—each of whom had won a national championship—elected instead of Driesell, but this time he was all alone.
