Kevin Huerter named to NBA All-Rookie second team

After a solid NBA rookie season, current Atlanta Hawks and former Maryland guard Kevin Huerter was named to the NBA All-Rookie second team by the media Tuesday.

Huerter was drafted 19th overall by the Hawks in the 2018 NBA Draft, and averaged 9.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game on 41.9 percent shooting. He also shot 38.5 percent on three-point attempts, and his 136 made threes were fourth-most among NBA rookies.

The Clifton Park, New York, native becomes just the sixth Terp to be named to an All-Rookie team, and is the first since Steve Francis was named to the first team following the 1999-2000 season.
