Incoming Maryland prospect Diamond Stone has withdrawn from the USA Basketball’s U-19 World Championship Training Camp in Colorado, the Arizona Daily Star reported on Saturday.
Stone, who was a member of the 2014 USA U-17 World Championship Team last summer, was one of three players to withdraw from the camp, which opened in Colorado Springs on Friday.
He was expected to arrive at Maryland following his duties with the U-19 national team, which will compete at the World Championships in Greece through July 5. Without national team duties, Stone could now add an extra month of preparation with Maryland.
