CB Marcus Lewis leaves Maryland football, per report

Redshirt junior cornerback Marcus Lewis has decided to leave Maryland football for “personal reasons,” according to InsideMdSports.

Lewis arrived last year as a highly-touted transfer from Florida State, and looked like he would make an immediate impact after a strong showing in the spring game. After starting the first three games of the season, he played in just two more. He recorded 11 tackles this season and had two passes broken up.

Lewis’ departure continues what’s been a rocky path for the Gonzaga (D.C.) graduate. He initially committed to Virginia Tech before flipping to Florida and eventually signing with Florida State.
