Allie Kubek admits to getting mad, which is odd for someone who thrives on positivity. Those in her inner circle are quick to label the Maryland women’s basketball forward as goofy, and there’s typically a lighthearted feel to her media sessions. Her mother, Jessie, smiles when reminiscing about her two daughters having dance parties in the kitchen, a habit that has continued on TikTok.

But things didn’t go particularly smoothly as Kubek transitioned into her college career at Towson before transferring to Maryland, and she became frustrated by the setbacks. Her recruitment was affected by a torn right ACL suffered during her junior year of high school, and she didn’t feel like herself early on.
