Maryland women's soccer opened the 2015 athletic season with a well-earned 1-0 victory over Kent State, thanks to Alex Anthony's penalty kick in the 31st minute.
Maryland opened the season Friday evening at Ludwig Field against the Kent State Golden Flashes of the Mid-American Conference. The Terps didn't get off to the best start, but dominated play in the later stages of the game, and the Golden Flashes rarely threatened to equalize.
First Half: Slow Start, Quick Recovery
The Terps came out in a 4-3-3 formation, with Gabby Galanti, Alex Anthony, and Natasha Ntone-Kouo playing up front as a 3-headed attack.
