Albany men’s lacrosse surges late to upset UMBC, 14-9; Penn State women knock off Maryland | ROUNDUP

The Albany men’s lacrosse team outscored No. 16 UMBC 7-1 in the fourth quarter to secure a 14-9 upset victory on Sunday afternoon.

Corey Yunker had four goals and two assists and Jakob Patterson had two goals and four assists for the host Great Danes (6-3, 4-2 America East), who entered the fourth quarter trailing 8-7.

Senior attackman Ryan Frawley extended his scoring streak to 32 games with a hat trick, while junior midfielder Taylor Bohanan (St. Mary’s) chipped in two goals for UMBC (5-2, 4-2), which had its two-game winning steak ended. In his first game back since March 6, senior Brett McIntyre added a goal and an assist.
