4-star 2022 guard Paul Lewis commits to Maryland men’s basketball

Maryland men’s basketball got on board with the class of 2022 Sunday, with point guard Paul Lewis announcing his commitment to the program.

Lewis, the No. 19 point guard and No. 108 player in the nation, is a product of Bishop O’Connell High School in Virginia, which also produced Maryland-great Melo Trimble.

Lewis, who chose the Terps over offers from Georgetown, Louisville, Miami and Villanova, among others, is the program’s first Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) commitment since Anthony Cowan Jr. in 2016. Some of the best players in Maryland history have come out of the league, including the likes of Adrian Branch, Derrick Lewis, Jerrod Mustaf and James Gist, among others.
