3-star safety Treron Collins signs with Maryland football

Maryland’s defensive backfield strengthened further Wednesday as three-star safety Treron Collins signed with the Terps.

Collins, from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia, is the lone safety in the Maryland’s 2019 class at the moment, although the Terps are still waiting on an announcement from Florida native Cortez Andrews.

The 6’2, 190-pound Collins is a strong pickup for Maryland. The 75th-ranked safety in thisthe class (according to the 247Sports Composite) brings speed, strong coverage and powerful hitting to the Terps.
