3-star CB Deonte Banks signs with Maryland football

After committing to Maryland football in June, three-star cornerback Deonte Banks officially joined the Terps’ 2019 class Wednesday, sending in his National Letter of Intent.

The Edgewood, Maryland, Native and Edgewood High School product is the No. 13 prospect in the state and No. 74 cornerback in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. He’s currently the fourth-highest rated member of Maryland’s class, although that’s subject to change in the coming days and weeks. The Terps were his only Power 5 offer, but the 6’1, 190-pound Banks could be an impact player at the next level.

Maryland’s 2019 class entered Wednesday with just 10 verbal commits—it added an 11th with tight end Malik Jackson, who subsequently signed—but three of those players are cornerbacks.
