HUNTINGTON — Morgan Zerkle, a Marshall junior outfielder from nearby Milton, W.Va., was one of 18 players named to the 2016 USA Women’s Elite Team after competing in the selection camp in Irvine, Calif. this past week. The Amateur Softball Association of America and USA Softball announced the selections Friday.
“It was crazy being surrounded by so much talent out there,” Zerkle said. “Everyone is good, and not just good but the best. It was cool seeing how I fit into the mix there.”
