HUNTINGTON — If Western Kentucky’s Justin Johnson looks like one of those average-looking basketball players from the southern coalfields, that’s because he is.
But he has long captured the attention of Conference USA opponents, Marshall perhaps more than the others. The Thundering Herd owns a three-game winning streak over the Hilltoppers, but Johnson has put up some big numbers.
Marshall will try to slow down the resident of Hazard, Kentucky, when the rivals clash again Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green. Tipoff is 6 p.m.
In those three games, two last season and Marshall’s 94-80 win last month in Huntington, Johnson is averaging 21.
