Thundering Herd Rallies, But Falls At Pitt for 3rd Straight Loss

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Herd was down, but not out, and the final score of 43-27 is just a little bit deceptive. Marshall trailed 27-0 at halftime, and the Pitt Panthers (3-2, 0-1 in ACC) were running up and down the grass surface at Heinz Field without much challenge from the Herd.

Marshall (1-3) had punted on 5-of-6 of its first half possessions, gaining just over 100 yards and only not punting on the final possession because the first half, thankfully, ended. The Panthers took their four touchdown lead to the dressing room. The fans in the stands at Heinz Field dressed in Kelly Green were thinking the rout was on.
