The Thundering Word: Withrow Returns, Hopes to Be a ‘Keeper’ as Coach

HUNTINGTON – He didn’t expect it to happen quite like this, but the most celebrated player in Marshall men’s soccer history now goes by “Coach Withrow.”

After three seasons at the top of the U.S. professional ranks as a backup and fill-in goalkeeper following his four-year career starting in the net for the Herd, Daniel Withrow has returned to campus. He’s been “recruited” by Marshall again … This time as a volunteer keeper coach for the women’s team.

Withrow, the only conference player of the year (2012, C-USA) in Herd men or women’s soccer history, isn’t quite sure where his latest stop will lead.
