HUNTINGTON – Chelsey Romero wants to be a pediatrician … and she played doctor in providing the prescription her Marshall women’s basketball team needed Thursday afternoon at the Henderson Center.
The Herd post player scored a career-high 19 points in relief, but it was as much her defense and physicality inside that made the difference, as Coach Matt Daniel’s club snapped a three-game losing streak with a 73-65 victory over UAB before 1,855 mostly school kids on “Field Trip Day.”
Marshall (17-9, 7-8 Conference USA) trailed 18-8 at the end of the first quarter and still was behind 29-23 at halftime.
